Splash Access allows you to automatically provision a custom splash page solution that integrates into the Meraki cloud instantly. Splash Access also collects data (name, email addresses etc.) and integrates into APIs from several major marketing tools like MailChimp, Twilio, and social networks like Google, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn.

Once this data is collected, you can then create, manage and implement targeted proximity marketing campaigns to wireless visitors. Proximity Marketing is the ability to provide a smartphone user with digital information based on their physical proximity to an object. For example, a person walks into a store and stands near a shoe display. The proximity marketing system will provide information to their app about the shoes on sale, or other marketing information. The user has to install our app to receive beacon signals and trigger notifications. We’ve created our Proximity App for this purpose, so you have no development cost. We provide the tool to manage notifications - what content should show when and where.

Splash Access is suited for hotels, retail outlets, shopping Centres, outdoor wireless events, exhibitions, concerts and any other visitor based Wi-Fi hotspots. Splash Access is an Information Technology company based in the UK providing Web Development, Computer Support and Bespoke Application Development to small and large business customers.

Dashboard API Docs

Meraki organization admins can use the Dashboard API to quickly update their networks using command line tools, scripts, or the free tool Postman. This API is used by Meraki customers to automate IT tasks. The Cisco Meraki Dashboard API is a modern, RESTful API using HTTPS for transport and JSON for object serialization. It is similar to other modern web APIs such at Github’s, Stripe’s, and Trello’s. Support for other protocols, if required, can be provided by an adaptor on the client side.

The API key is associated with your Organization administrator accounts. Once enabled, you can generate, revoke, and regenerate your API key on the my profile page of the Dashboard. Online documentation that is kept automatically up-to-date with changes in the API can be found by going to Help > API docs.

Introduction Detailed Documentation

Scanning API Demo (now with BLE!)

Meraki provides an API that allows you to export the location data to your own application. This sample app shows will show you how to get started using the Cisco Meraki Location API with an app you can really build in 10 minutes.

The API lets organizations have access to the raw data used by the Meraki dashboard. With access to the raw data there are some major benefits. The full device identities are included, facilitating lookup by other applications by MAC address or IP address. The data is provided with only a short delay between it being created and presented to the API.

The Scanning API allows for software to be developed that are location and identity aware. User identity can be linked to devices, location awareness becomes bound only by the geographical dispersion of your access points (AP). The Scanning API providdes X,Y coordinates and latitude and longitude values. You can now track any device in Cisco Meraki’s headquarters in San Francisco with the Location demo app.

Captive Portal Solution Guide

This document describes the protocol flow, configuration process and example use-cases for self-hosted captive portal (splash page) access, which is relevant for Wi-Fi hotspot provision by retailers, hospitality owners and service providers. The Meraki external captive portal (EXCAP) architecture allows for a user to be re-directed to an external captive portal where the hotspot provider can show a custom web page, targeted advertising, etc. The user can then click on a link to be granted web access.
